Dr. Anita Stevenson

She is a National Board-Certified,  special educator with a Doctorate in special education. She specializes in helping parents understand and navigate systems like IEPs, special education services, and school-based supports; while also focusing on practical, day-to-day strategies for building independence in children, such as communication, behavior regulation, and self-help skills. Her experience spans more than 20 years on both sides of the table as an educator, special education department chair, and parent advocate.

As a special educator, Dr. Stevenson brings both professional expertise and real-life understanding to her work supporting families and children with autism, developmental delays, and diverse learning needs across school and home settings. 

Dr. Stevenson works closely with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and behavioral specialists to design and implement individualized programs that support meaningful progress. Her unique approach focuses on empowering parents rather than compliance and paperwork. 

Dr. Stevenson believes families should feel confident, informed, and equipped to advocate for their child while also creating supportive routines at home. Her work is rooted in both evidence-based practices and compassionate, culturally responsive care.

Through her teaching, coaching, and digital resources, Dr. Stevenson continue to support countless families in moving from frustration and overwhelm to clarity, confidence, and progress.

Why I care about helping parents?

As a special education teacher who has worked with hundreds of families, Dr. Stevenson has seen amazing parents struggle simply because they weren’t taught how the system works. She founded Collaborative learning solutions to fill the need to empower parents to successfully navigate the learning, personal, and social needs of their children with developmental and learning disorders.
